In de digitale wereld kunnen beelden, ideeën en meningen eindeloos door iedereen worden gedeeld.
In die eindeloze media overvloed is de old school Zine, een vorm van DIY, onafhankelijke, artistieke publicatie – een geweldig tegenwicht. Niet alleen als hyper individueel tegengeluid, maar ook voor het creëren van een gedeelde gemeenschap, briefwisselingen en sociale verwantschap. Ontsproten aan de punkcultuur van de jaren ‘80 beleeft de Zine een opleving in het digitale medialandschap van nu.
In de workshop ga je zonder computer aan de slag om je eigen Zine over jouw stad te maken. Gaat jouw zine over de mensen die over het hoofd worden gezien? Over alle soorten onkruid die groeien tussen de tegels in jouw wijk? Of is jouw zine een collectie tekeningen van je favoriete buren? Jij mag het zeggen, het is jouw Zine over jouw stad.
About the workshop
In the digital world, images, ideas and opinions can be shared endlessly by anyone.
In that endless media overload, the old-school Zine, a form of DIY, independent, artistic publication - is a great counterpoint. Not only as a hyper individual counterpoint, but also for creating shared community, correspondences and social kinship. Originating from the punk culture of the 1980s, the Zine is experiencing a resurgence in today's digital media landscape.
In the workshop, you will work without a computer to create your own Zine about your city. Is your zine about the people who are overlooked? About all the types of weeds growing between the tiles in your neighbourhood? Or is your zine a collection of drawings of your favourite neighbours? It's up to you, it's your Zine about your city.

Mika Schalks is grafisch vormgever en illustrator en werkt voor illustratiemagazine Wobby.Club en animatiestudio Holy Motion.
Pien Kars is beeldmaker en werkt zowel in 2D als in 3D. Naast het maken van haar eigen beeldende kunst, werkt ze voor de animatiestudio Holy Motion.

Pien Kars is an image maker and works in both 2D and 3D. Besides making her own visual art, she works for the animation studio Holy Motion.
