Over de workshop
Onder begeleiding van meesterproducent en DJ Tom Trago ontwikkel je je eigen nieuwe track met geluiden die je niet op je computer kunt vinden. DJ en producer Sjam Sjamsoedin maakt voor jou een sample pack met geluiden van de straat. Tom Trago neemt je tijdens de workshop mee in de wondere wereld van vertragen, manipuleren, mengen of versnellen en begeleid je bij het maken van nieuwe tracks en beats om je vingers bij af te likken. About the workshop
With the guidance of master Producer and DJ Tom Trago, you develop your own new track with sounds you can’t find in your computer. DJ and producer Sjam Sjamsoedin will hand pick sounds from the streets and pack them into a sample pack for you to re-use and turn into finger licking good new tracks. Tom Trago will guide you into the track-making universe and show you how to slow down, mingle, speed up or manipulate the sounds and turn them into fresh new beats. Bio
Tom Trago is al lange tijd een van de meest vooraanstaande personen van de Nederlandse en Europese elektronische muziek-underground; een wereldreiziger DJ, producer, live-artiest en labeleigenaar. Het liefst doet hij niets anders dan het verzamelen van over het hoofd geziene juweeltjes en frisse geluiden uit zijn eigen land. Hij beweerde ooit dat hij elk dag de fysieke behoefte voelde om muziek te maken. Een gemiddelde dag voor Trago bestaat uit een combinatie van studiosessies – solo of met vrienden en gelijkgestemde muzikanten uit Nederland of daarbuiten – DJ-optredens en liveshows.
Tom blijft zijn hart en ziel in de muziek steken, of het nu gaat om DJ'en, live optreden of het maken van nieuwe nummers. Als je hem tegenkomt in de hoek van een donkere, zweterige club, zul je hem waarschijnlijk opgewonden horen praten over ideeën voor nieuwe projecten of lyrisch worden over tot nu toe onbekende producenten die hij heeft ontdekt. Zijn onderdompeling in muziek mag dan totaal zijn, de muzikale reis van Tom Trago is verre van voltooid. Eigenlijk is het nog maar net begonnen...
Bio
Tom Trago has long been one of the leading lights of the Dutch and European electronic music underground; a globe trotting DJ, producer, live performer and label owner who enjoys nothing more than championing both overlooked gems and fresh sounds from his own country. He once claimed that he felt a physical need to make music every day, and it’s hard to think of anyone whose immersion in music is quite as complete. For Trago, there is no “typical day”, but an average one would include a combination of studio sessions – either solo, or with friends and like-minded musicians from the Netherlands or beyond – DJ gigs and live shows.
Tom will continue to pour his heart and soul into music, whether DJing, performing live or making new tracks. If you bump into him in the corner of some dark, sweaty club, you’re likely to find him excitedly talking about ideas for new projects or waxing lyrical about hitherto unknown producers he’s discovered. His immersion in music may be total, but Tom Trago’s musical journey is far from complete. In fact, it’s only just begun…
